Abstract

The secondary data analysis (SDA) is a method used to access potentially useful data to carry out a program evaluation process. Current technology enables building and querying large databases more easily. Nevertheless, we note that SDA is still poorly documented from a theoretical point of view and there are few practical proposals to run a successful SDA. This article aims, on the one hand, to present the main theoretical foundations of SDA and, on the other hand, to make recommendations to facilitate the implementation of SDA.
