Abstract

Baseline measurements are critical for programs to track progress over time. However, there are instances during which the lack of data completeness poses measurement challenges. Save the Children, Nepal encountered such challenges in 2018 while conducting a midline assessment and resorted to extrapolating baseline data using several approaches. This article highlights the different approaches that Save the Children adopted for reconstructing the baseline and their pros and cons, along with some practical guidance for reconstructing a baseline.
